Sustainability Groups The National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE) is an independent advisory body that provides decision makers, opinion leaders and the Canadian public with advice and recommendations for promoting sustainable development. The responsible task force commissions research, conducts national consultations, reports on agreements and disagreements, and recommends how to promote sustainability. Their site is available in either English or French. The Earth Council is an organization guided by the following objectives: to promote awareness for the needed transition to more sustainable and equitable patterns of development, to encourage public participation in decision-making processes at all levels of government and to build bridges of understanding and cooperation between important actors of civil society and governments worldwide. Think tank, Rocky Mountain Institute is an entrepreneurial, nonprofit organization that fosters the efficient and restorative use of resources to create a more secure, prosperous, and life-sustaining world. Co-founders Amory and Hunter Lovins have co-authored a book with Paul Hawken called Natural Capitalism, Creating the Next Industrial Revolution, that contends that a move to sustainability is not only necessary, it can also be very profitable.
